What to Expect
Equipment: We normally plan on shipping equipment to arrive about 2 days before your hands on course. This allows extra time for any fedex delays, as well as plenty of time for setup.
Your full tower (scope, suction, tower, monitor) will come in 4 larger pelican cases
Box 1 - Scope
Box 2 - Olympus processor, Monitor, pigtail, and cords
Box 3 - Olympus Light source
Box 4 - Suction Unit
Specimen: Specimens will be shipped in a styrofoam container, vacuum sealed, and foil wrapped. They are shipped priority overnight (Tuesday-Saturday) in 1-2 boxes. You should try to schedule arrival 2 days before your lab, but will also need to store your specimen. (see thawing instructions below). Specimen arrival date will be coordinated with you via Endosim.
Thawing: Specimens should be kept frozen until the day before the event. The evening before, specimens can be set out (outside of coolers) at room temp to thaw overnight (12-15 hours). by morning they should be good to go, and can be stored in a refrigerator (or on ice) until needed. Thawing instructions will also be included with the specimen
Disposal: All specimens are sourced from USDA approved facilities. So they can disposed of in normal trash. Special Bio Hazard trash is not necessary
Clean-up / return: All trays and Equipment should be wiped down and packed up according to packing instructions (usually found on the inside top of pelican cases). Please double check to make sure all equipment was packed up and returned. Remove all old fedex labels from packages, and place new labels (provided with equipment). If labels were misplaced and you are using your own, please ship directly to Endosim ( 41 Main street, Bolton MA 01740) and provide tracking information to endosim or BSC educational team member.
